What is the AI Novel Prize and how are the winners selected?
The AI Novel Prize is a jury and community award for the most innovative discoveries applying AI to chemistry, physics, and biology.
We seek to honor work that transcends the laboratory. Beyond pure scientific innovation, we evaluate how a project contributes to its field by pushing the boundaries of what is possible through validated outcomes. Crucially, our winners must demonstrate a profound commitment to the future—showing a clear societal and environmental impact that addresses the urgent challenges of our time.
What role do the community and jury play in the selection process?
We believe that groundbreaking science should both stand up to expert scrutiny and inspire the
broader community. To reflect this, the final selection is determined by two equal pillars: a
50% weighting from our expert jury and 50% from the community vote. This balanced approach
ensures our winners are both scientifically sound and widely recognized by their peers.
When will the winners be announced?
To ensure every discovery is carefully evaluated, we avoid fixed dates in favor of giving our
jury and community enough time to thoroughly deliberate on the science and its real-world
impact. We’ll share updates and announce the final results as soon as the scoring is complete.
Can I vote more than once?
You can vote once per field (chemistry, biology, physics).
